Mondelēz International, one of the world’s largest snacks companies, identified how the behavior of their employees on the road has the greatest impact than any other factor on the success of its travel and meetings program. If their travelers stray from travel policy and preferred suppliers, the company spends too much on travel. Advito’s Traveler Engagement team was brought in to help meet the travel and meetings program’s zero-base budgeting goals.
First, the Traveler Engagement team conducted an assessment and found that Mondelēz’s previous traveler communication efforts often were piecemeal and happened more as a reaction to a problem. Next, they inventoried available technology tools and mapped out an integrated communications plan designed to engage travelers and influence their purchasing behaviors. This proactive education and outreach program resulted in:
