1. Why did you choose the name Advito, and what does it mean?
The name Advito links the concept of “advice” with “ito,” a form of the Latin root “iter" for “journey.” That linkage sums up the consulting team’s mantra and is echoed in Advito’s strapline: “Good advice travels far.”
2. Why did you launch a separate entity for consulting?
As the travel industry has grown more complex, so has the demand for consulting services. More than ever, companies are asking us how they perform against their peers, how they can increase traveler satisfaction or how they can reduce the costs of certain processes. Answering these questions requires specialized expertise and dedicated resources, which is why we’ve assembled what is arguably the best pool of consulting talent in the travel industry.
3. Why didn’t you keep offering consulting under the BCD Travel label?
We decided to offer our services as Advito for several reasons, the most important being what our clients have told us. Our clients said they want unbiased consulting services delivered by an organization with an arm’s-length relationship to a TMC. Objectivity, credibility and a clear perspective are critical to them.
They’ve also emphasized that the link to a world-class TMC provides added benefits in terms of access to data and knowledge and expertise. Advito offers the unique combination of the strengths of traditional management consultancies (methodology & tools, analytical support, comprehensive & integrated solutions), with the strengths of a major TMC (industry expertise, local knowledge of travel markets, benchmarking data.)
5. What is Advito’s point of difference?
A key differentiator is our record of doing what we say we’re going to do. Indeed, our consulting teams have met virtually every financial goal set for a client since we started offering consulting services more than 10 years ago. And our clients think so highly of Advito that over 95 percent come back to us for repeat engagements.

6. What is Advito’s approach to benchmarking and best practices?
Benchmarking and the ability to share best practices are at the core of what we do. We have an exceptional benchmarking program, Advito eValuation Service, as well as the acumen and experience to provide clients with actionable data that can be turned into results.
7. How do you charge clients? What is your fee structure?
Our fee structure varies from client to client depending on the size and scope of the engagement. We do not have a standard approach to solving a client’s issues, which is why we don’t have standard pricing.
8. How many of BCD Travel’s clients use Advito’s consulting services?
Approximately 80 percent of BCD Travel’s Top 200 global clients have used our services.
